Add A State Category

  1. Click on the Setup Menu and select State Data Elements.
  2. From the State Data Elements Menu select Categories. The program displays the State Category Information window.
  3. Click the Add button at the top of the window to display the Add State Category window.
  4. Click in the Code field and type a three character abbreviation for this category. This abbreviation is used in reports.
  5. Click in the Name field and type the name for this category (limit 20 characters).
  6. Click on the Add button to create a sub-category for this descriptive category. The Add Sub-Category window is displayed.
  7. Click in the Sub ID field and type an abbreviation for this sub-category (limit 3 characters).
  8. Click in the Name field and type the name of this sub-category (limit 20 characters).
  9. Click on OK to save the sub-category.
  10. Continue adding sub-categories as needed.
  11. When all necessary sub-categories have been added, click OK on the Add State Category window to save the category and sub-categories.
