Delete A Grade Level

Delete A Grade Level provides a way for you to remove a group of students that graduated the previous year. For example, in the 2009-2010 school year the class of 2009 should have already graduated. They continue to exist in the 2008-2009 school year so you can go back to look up information on the group if necessary. It is recommended that you delete the grade level that graduated the previous year. Before deleting a grade level make sure to change the year of graduation of any student who has been retained.

Steps

1. Click on the ToolsMenu and select Global.
2. Click on the Global Menu and select Delete A Grade Level to display the Delete A Grade Level Window.
3. In the Year of Graduation To Delete field, type the year of graduation of the class you wish to remove from the database. Note that these students will still exist in previous years.
4. To delete by Descriptive Category make sure the Delete Based On A Descriptive Category box is checked. Select the appropriate Descriptive Category and Sub-Category.

Note: The Descriptive Category option allows you to delete only a portion of the grade level instead of the entire grade level.

5. Click OK to begin.
6. The program warns you that you are about to delete a grade level and asks if you are sure. Click Yes to continue.
