Copy Assignments

This option allows you to copy assignments and assignment types by term from another course in your grade book, from a grade book in a previous year or from another teacher's grade book (only administrators can copy from another teacher).

When copying assignments from another course, the program copies assignments for selected terms or for all terms from the selected course to the course in which you are working. If you are copying in the middle of the year, you could inadvertently change student's grades if the point values of the assignments are not the same in both courses. For example, if you are copying from Algebra I to Honors Algebra I, an assignment with the same name may be worth more points in the Honors Class. If you copy mid-year, the points are modified to match Algebra I, thus pushing the Honors Algebra students' grades up.

Steps

1. Click on the Administration Menu and select Teacher Desk..
2. If you are an administrator, click on the arrow in the Teacher field and select the teacher whose grade book you wish to access. If you are a teacher, your name should be displayed in the Teacher field, and your courses will be listed.
3. Click once to highlight the course to which you are copying Assignments.
4. Click the Assignments button on the left of the window to display the Assignment Information window.
5. Click on the Copy From button at the top of the Assignment Information window to display the Assignments window.

Note: Only an Administrator can copy assignments from one teacher's grade book to another.

6. If you are copying assignments from another year, click in the Year field and select the appropriate year.
7. Click on the Course from which you would like to copy assignments to select it.
8. Click on the Term from which you would like to copy assignments to select it.
9. Click on the Term to which you would like to copy assignments to select it.

The program recognizes the case used in the assignment tupes. For example, Homework is not the same as homework.

10. Click OK to copy the assignments.
11. Click OK on the Assignment Information window.
