Class Attendance Configuration

This window allows you to set up rules for class cuts or period by period attendance. If your school chooses to track class cuts with web2school, you have the option of keeping it totally separate from daily attendance, of updating attendance values based on class cut values, of completely separating daily and class attendance or of setting a threshold that would change a student's attendance category after a certain number of cuts.

This window also allows the system administrator to enable the option for updating Daily Attendance with the Class Attendance category from within the Class Attendance window. Designed for those schools that take both class and daily attendance from the same period, this option prevents the teacher from having to take attendance twice. You may select a specific period during which the option is available to teachers, typically period 1. After taking class attendance, the teacher can check the box to Update Daily Attendance before clicking OK to exit the window. Daily Attendance now reflects the Class Attendance value.

Updating Daily Attendance with Class Attendance should be used with caution so as not to accidentally change Daily Attendance values.

If you choose not to enter class cuts for students, it is recommended that you configure this window with option three (Do Not Update Class Attendance With Daily Attendances Automatically).
