Add An Existing Guardian

Guardians are stored in their own database tables in web2school. They are linked to one or more students in the database. For example, John Adams may have two children the your school Jane and Steve. John Adams is stored in the Guardian database and then linked to each of his children. When John Adams' telephone number changes, the change will be reflected on both students, since they are both linked to him.

Note: The first guardian in the student's guardian list is considered the Primary Guardian. Students' addresses and telephone numbers are considered to be the same as their Primary Guardian.

Steps

1. Click on the Administration Menu and select Students to display the Student Search Window.
2. Search for a student and click the Modify button at the top of the window to display the Student Information Window.
3. Click on the Guardian Tab to select it.
4. Once the Guardian Tab has been displayed, click on the Add Existing button at the top of the Tab to display the Guardian Database. See figure above.
5. Click a column heading to sort guardians alphabetically or numerically.
6. Scroll through the list of guardians. Click on the appropriate guardian to select him/her.
7. Click on OK to add the guardian to the student's record.
