This option allows you to create and access multiple school years. Each year, at the end of the school year or when you are ready to begin building your Master Schedule, you must create a new year in which to work. Working in the new year preserves your previous information, while allowing you to change data for the coming school year.
When a new year is added, some information from the previous year is copied to the new year. These items include all student demographic data, all personnel data, all course data, all configuration data, the final master schedule and the data used to build that schedule.
From this window you can also access previous years' data. If you were researching a student who had left your school, you could select a year in which he had attended your school and then bring up his record.
The Years window displays a list of the years that currently exist in your system. To go into a year and view that data simply select it from the list in the Select Default Year field and click OK.
To check the year that you have displayed, look at the upper right corner of your desktop in the current year field. You can also view the title bar across the top of the web2school window. In addition, The school year you are in will be displayed in the form 2011-2012
