At the elementary level schools sometimes prefer to give a more detailed account of how students are performing. The Elementary Grades program tracks grades at three levels. The first is the course level, which is similar to a traditional report card.
The second level is the Skill Type, which is a break down of items within a course. For example, if the course is Reading the teacher may want to break reading down further and grade things like phonetics, letter recognition, word patterns, etc.
The third level is the Skill itself, which is a sub-division of a Skill Type. For example, if the Skill Type is word patterns, the skills within that might be Recognizes word ending in "at", Recognizes words ending in"ot", Understands Rhyming Sounds. A grade can be given for each Course, Skill Type and individual Skill. Within a course there is no limit to the number of Skill Types and Skills that can be tracked and graded.
All of these gradable items can be given a regular grade, an effort grade, a participation grade and a conduct grade.
Note: Names of Skill Types and Skills cannot be modified. You must delete the Skill or Skill Type and add it in again with the correct name.
Note: Grades for Skill Types and Skills are lost if the Skill or Skill Type is deleted.
