- Click on the AdministrationMenu
and select Teacher Desk.
- If you are an administrator, click on the arrow in the Teacher
field and select the teacher whose grade book you wish to
access. If you are a teacher, your information should be displayed in
the Teacher Field, and your courses listed.
- Click once on the desired course/section, then click the Averages and Exams button to open the Edit Averages and Exams by Course window.
- The program defaults to the current term as determined by your calendar and term setup. If the course does not actually meet for the current term, you will be asked if you want to enter grades for the course anyway.
- Click in the Term field and select the term and course for which you will be entering grades, if necessary.
- The roster of students in this class is displayed on the left with the Averages And Exams tab selected. Click the Term Average Details Tab for a Table View. You will be able to view the student’s earned average in each assignment type.
- For a Graph View of this data, click Options, then Graph View.
- If you have automatic calculations enabled and you have entered daily
grades, the each student should have a Term Average for the selected term.
- If you wish to enter grades, click in the Term Average
section and begin typing Term Averages.
Note: If Letter
Grades button is clicked, you must enter a letter or a specialty grade in the grade
fields (i.e. WP or WF or I). If the Number
Grades is clicked, you must enter a number or a specialty grade in the grade fields.
- To override a calculated grade: Click in the appropriate field and backspace to remove the old grade, then type in the new grade.
- To return to the calculated grade: Click in the appropriate field , then right-click and turn Auto Calc On.
- To view a list of the available comments,
click Options, then Configured Comments.
- Click in the Com 1 field
term and type the number of the comment to be printed on this
student's Report Card.
- If you would like to include a second comment, click in the Com
2 field and type the number of the comment to be printed.
- To enter free form Notes (up to 250 characters): Select the appropriate student and right-click to see theView Term Notes button. You may also select theNotes button at the top of the screen, or you may click on theTerm Notes tab. These notes are sent to the Report Card along with the grades. To print these notes on the report card, you must select the appropriate option on the printing window.
Click Spell Check to check the spelling of your note. If errors are found, you will be given the chance to Change, Add to Dictionary, or Ignore.
The Copy/Paste clipboard in the lower left corner allows you to store text for use in other notes. The clipboard will display with a piece of paper if there is already text in it. Click on the clipboard, and select either copy or paste, as desired. This text will remain on the clipboard for use in other notes
- To export the data to a comma-separated value file, click Options, then Export CSV at the top of the window.
- To view/print the data in a report, click Options, then View Text.
- To notify the office: When you have completed entering grades, click the Notify button to send a message to the office indicating the teacher, course/section, term, date, and time for which grades have been completed. You may also include a note with additional information for the administrator.
- When you have finished, go to the next student alphabetically or
click Close to close this window.
